Helen Hill, representing Southeast Michigan Health Information Exchange (SEMHIE), FHIMSS, is immediate past President and Director of Public-Private Initiatives for the South East Michigan Health Information Exchange (SEMHIE) and a Board member of MiHIN Shared Services (MiHIN), the state-designated entity for state-level HIE.

A nationally recognized expert in healthcare information technology (HIT), health information exchange (HIE), identity assurance and healthcare public policy, she has successfully founded and led several non-profit organizations for HIE/HIT at the local and state level; participates actively in national / international standards and identity assurance initiatives; and has been instrumental in bringing more than $35 million in state and federal contracts, grants and cooperative agreements to SE Michigan.

Ms. Hill actively serves on major boards and committees for HIT/HIE, identity assurance and quality initiatives at the state and national level. Ms. Hill has more than thirty years’ comprehensive experience in healthcare IT as a consultant, product developer, project director and executive for national consulting firms, integrated healthcare delivery systems, software vendors, healthcare industry associations, insurers and physician practices. Ms. Hill has led selections, contract negotiations and business process redesign / implementation projects for enterprise-wide systems, including: integrated physician practice management; inpatient and ambulatory EHR; patient financials; emergency department; philanthropy; medical education; and performance management.

Ms. Hill has an extensive record of successful event planning, publications, white papers and executive presentations for local, regional, state and national healthcare IT conferences and webinars. She has received national awards for her service to the healthcare industry.Ms. Hill has been instrumental in developing and leading several professional and civic organizations. She is currently President of M-Women, an Ann Arbor based non-profit dedicated to raising funds for University of Michigan women’s athletics.
