Government Organizations

Michigan Health Information Network works with each of the official Health Information Exchange organizations, many times from other states. We also work with Federal agencies (including U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Social Security Administration, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Electronic Submission of Medical Documentation) to promote the secure exchange across state lines. This is done via the The Sequoia Project. This kind of an exchange supports claims and cases where someone who is moving or traveling may need healthcare in a different state.
