Use Case Categories

The Use Case Factory is a lean manufacturing-oriented approach to build the tools needed to share health information electronically. Use cases for sharing specific types of health information require unique technical and legal guidelines to ensure the health information is protected and that the right people have access to the information.

You can learn more about use cases here.

Click on any of our use case ‘assembly lines’ below to view the full list of use cases in that category currently in development or production at MiHIN.

The Use Case Factory employs a four-step process to take a use case from conceptualization to widespread adoption. Each stage involves specific stakeholders who help develop the use case and pass it along to the next stop on the assembly line for that use case. The end result is a more thoroughly vetted and intelligently designed use case that better serves the needs of stakeholders who will participate in that use case to securely and confidently share the type of health information specified.

Additional information on individual use cases and how to participate in the Use Case Factory are available throughout this section of our web site.
