EAST LANSING —The Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services has expanded its board of directors with the addition of five new members.
The new members are: Jim Lee representing the Michigan Health and Hospital Association; Pat Rinvelt representing the Governor’s Health Information Technology Commission; Dr. Arthur Ronan representing the Michigan State Medical Society; Sue Schade representing Great Lakes Health Connect; and Dr. Taylor Scott representing the Michigan Osteopathic Association.
The new directors will contribute to the overall guidance and strategy of Michigan’s statewide initiative to improve health care delivery and foster payment reform through better access to electronic health information.
Lee, of Okemos, serves as the vice president for Data Policy and Development, responsible for data collection and development of the Michigan inpatient and outpatient database and numerous patient safety and quality reporting systems. He also leads the association’s health care transparency efforts. Lee has more than 25 years of experience in both information technology and data research. He has served on the governor’s Health Information Technology Commission and is a member of the Michigan Health Care Cybersecurity Council.
Rinvelt, of Ann Arbor, serves as the executive director of the National Network of Depression Centers. She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in health care analytics, database operations management, and product and solution development. In addition to her role at the center, Rinvelt was appointed to the Governor’s Health Information Technology Commission to work with the Michigan Department of Community Health to foster an interoperable health care information infrastructure in the state, and holds an adjunct teaching position in the College of Health and Human Services School of Health Sciences at Eastern Michigan University.
Ronan, of West Bloomfield, is a member of the staff at Sparrow Hospital, and serves on the staff and Resident Training Faculty at McLaren Greater Lansing. Ronan has more than 25 years of experience in both private practice and hospital settings specializing in Family Medicine. He is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Schade, of Ann Arbor, has nearly 30 years’ experience in health care information technology management. Schade is a fellow with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives. She currently serves on the board of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation and on the CHIME Policy Steering Committee.
Scott, of Lansing, provides leadership for departmental faculty in oversight of curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation of pre-clerkship curriculum at the college’s three campus sites. Dr. Scott has a clinical practice on campus with the Michigan State University HealthTeam and is jointly appointed in the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Department of Family and Community Medicine. He is board certified in Osteopathic Family Practice.
