openAirWare Launches New Software to Improve Michigan Health Information Exchange  Automated, Real-Time, Health Plan Communication Claims Conversions LANSING, Mich., Oct. 15, 2018 ― Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN) has adopted openAirWare software that enables MiHIN health plan partners to securely and easily communicate with one another throughout Michigan. The software offers a newly designed real-time conversion from any Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) to standards accepted by the American National Standards Institute for electronic data exchange. LANSING, Mich., Oct. 8, 2018 ― Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN) has enhanced the secure transmission of healthcare communications using Direct Secure Messaging with openAirWare LLC. In early 2018, MiHIN became a fully accredited health information service provider through openAirWare and now has the ability for providers and patients to exchange protected health information through MiHIN’s service, Diretto. Diretto enables patients, providers, specialists, health plans, pharmacists, hospital, and others to securely send and receive protected health information. Announcement of the MiHIN Shared Service Sub-state HIE Funding Program

Purpose: The State HIE Cooperative agreement approved by the National Coordinator for HIT related to Program Information Notice (ONC-HIE-PIN-001) calls for funding for Michigan’s qualified sub-state HIEs to thrive, expand and keep costs affordable for providers seeking meaningful use. Milestone Based Payments: Each qualified sub-state HIE will have the opportunity to submit one proposal for funding with a cap of $250,000. Milestones will be used to stage payments. Based on the discretion of the MiHIN Board, a sub-state HIE can apply for a second award upon successful completion of milestones and  subject to funding availability within the budget approved by the Office of the National Coordinator for HIT (“ONC”) for sub-state HIEs.
