Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer Proclaims Sept. 23- 29 as Health IT Week LANSING, Mich., Sept. 26, 2019 — To recognize the importance of health information technology, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has declared the week of Sept. 23 as Health IT Week in Michigan.. The focus of the week revolves around five focus areas - advancing public and population health, modernizing the public health infrastructure, accelerating workforce development, expanding access to broadband and telehealth and addressing social determinants of health. Michigan’s health information network is overseen by the Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services and includes participants such as physicians, physician organizations, pharmacies, hospitals, health insurance plans and the State of Michigan.
